A PLACE IN TIME

“A Place in Time” is Justin A.G.’s fifth album and comprises 9 original tracks, as well as 6 alternate versions of the 9 tracks/songs, for a total of 17 tracks.

Musically speaking, in “A Place in Time” Justin introduces a new layer to his arrangements by using the saxophone in an assortment of variations, be it as the prominent lead instrument or in blended combinations with guitars and other instrumentation.

The overall production is typical Justin A.G., featuring melodic compositions, catchy hooks and choruses, impressive musicianship, and expressive, meaningful lyrics. Indeed in Justin’s own words, particularly as it pertains to lyrics, this album is “an introspective and retrospective”.

Capturing the essence of “A Place in Time” are wistful lyrics that invite the listener to let the mind wonder and explore seemingly common, yet ever evasive, questions, and invariably illusive answers.

“A Place In Time” lyrically immerses the listener on the quest for the unattainable ideal that everyone seeks. The opening, turn-around, and ending feature a captivating saxophone riff and hook line that musically adorns and fits the track’s essence.

“Tomorrow” is a statement on the uncertainty of each tomorrow, and what lies ahead is often in the realm of the unexpected.

“Yesterme”, as the title indicates, reminisces on times gone by, younger, carefree days and all that went with it.

“Almost Strangers” raises the age-old question of whether we know who we think we know, how well, or if at all.

“Those Days” also wistfully looks back on adventures and misadventures, and the unattainable longing to relive them.

“Long Way” speaks to what comes of pursuing what gives one’s life meaning, along with the high price that’s often paid on the way to the long sought after Eden.

“Memories: My Story, My Life”. As the title not so subtly underscores, this track speaks for itself. In an intensely personal word collage, Justin shares the travails that shaped his life and the soul-searching feelings they invoked.

“Memories: Reprise and Finale” is a brief piano and strings instrumental that musically, without a single word being sung, captures the spirit of “A Place In Time”.
