ILLUSIONS COME AND GO…LIFE GOES ON

“…Life Goes On” is Justin A.G.’s foray into the realm of country pop music. While the lyrics for the 10 songs comprising this album are characteristically pop oriented, which comports with Justin’s writing style.
At the time of this recording, a number of years had transpired since Justin had been actively recording, and he’d earned a law degree in the interim.

At the urging of some acquaintances he’d made, including entertainment lawyers and others affiliated with the Nashville music scene, Justin made his way to Nashville and tried his hand in this new environment. Consequently the better part of a summer was spent in Nashville working with some of Music City’s best session musicians, in some of the major recording studios in the 1990’s.

Clyde Brooks, who had just recently produced a number of the hit songs for Ronna Reeves, a talented singer from Texas, was the producer for the project. More specifically, Clyde Brooks produced 4 of the tracks on the album, “Give Me A Sign”, “Railway Station”, “…Life Goes On”, and “Lady”.

This project opened up a new avenue of creativity for Justin, namely taking over as producer for the remainder of this album’s tracks: “Downtown Dance”, “The Lean Years”, “I’ll Never Fear The Rain”, “The Will Of The Survivor”, “Already Wasted”, “Have You Ever Done Anything For Me?”
At first Justin states that he naturally felt a little intimidated, but he welcomed the challenge. He used the opportunity to insert his preferred musical genres and flavors in his productions by incorporating a healthy dose of pop, soft rock, rock and contemporary country.

The resulting product might best be described as country rock as one can easily discern traces of the legendary American group The Eagles. This is not surprising given that The Eagles were one of Justin’s early and most predominant influences on his lyrics, arrangements, overall songwriting, and production.

The songs included in the album “Illusions Come and Go…Life Goes On” feature captivating lyrics interwoven with catchy melodies and heartfelt vocals. As a whole the album reflects the travails, challenges, ups and downs, that Justin the individual and musician encountered, faced and surmounted. Beyond the artist, these songs have a broad general appeal in that the lyrics encapsulate the hopes, aspirations, disappointments, struggles, and the myriad of feelings most everyone experiences.
